The Western Institute of Technology at Taranaki (WITT) is not only a sponsor and supporter of the Halamoana Awards, but also assists up and coming hospitality individuals with gaining skills and qualifications to assist them in their career development.

Production Co
Each year, over 5,000 students choose to achieve their aspirations by enrolling at WITT in over 60 different qualifications. Their courses have a strong vocational focus and are ideally suited to anyone wishing to embark on a new career, gain a promotion in their current career or wanting to re-skill to change career.

They also offer a large range of courses to meet other goals such as development of life skills, gaining entry to higher level study or to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Maori culture.

WITT was previously known as the Taranaki Polytechnic and has been in operation since 1972, celebrating it's 40th year this year.

Dominion Breweries, now known as DB Breweries, are a stalwart in the Taranaki region and have been strong supporters of the Halamoana's since day one. They are involved in many aspects of the community and are strongly entrenched in the hospitality industry in the region.

Think beer and DB immediately springs to mind. For years, drinkers were either DB or Lion men, thanks largely to their parent’s drop of choice. These day’s consumers have far greater choice but many remain loyal to DB and their increasing range of great beer and cider.

Some 5,000 years ago the Chinese brewed an alcoholic beverage called ‘kui’ that would form the basis for beer.

About Image has had a leading role in each of our events since year one. They provide all the design and graphics for each year's event, as well as the website and developing the online voting system.

Additionally they print all the voting forms, programmes, and the fabulous powerpoint presentation for the awards ceremony. Their design forms a key part of each storyline and this year is no exception. We love the 'Night At The Movies' theme.
